I'm sorry. I'm so very sorry.
For science?
Oh, that's cool. What kind of hardware did you use to construct it?
I think we need to zoom in a bit on the voltage scale. If we want to see a correlation. Are we looking for a correlation? I think I see a correlation. Hmm, we need a thermocouple in there too... I'm not sure that sucker's gonna last till spring..
Sortie there's a link to the hardware setup on that page. Such as it is.

I left a bright light pointing at the spud for a while. Voltage has gone up to 0.73V from 0.68V.
Aim was to get it to sprout. Result was discovering a source of limitless clean energy. Oops.
(I suspect the Arduino's analogue-to-digital converter is temperature-dependent, or something.)
Hardware? Arduino Ethernet, micro-SD card, VC0706 TTL serial JPEG camera. Software written by me, based on a crappy Arduino webcam thing I wrote coupled with remnants of the Flickr photoset RSS feed script thingy.
I do hope it starts sprouting.
Go on, admit it, you've named the potato haven't you?
Don't name test subjects. You might get attached.
That's what Minerva said :)
Bastard Perseus.
Thus the whole problem.
Now Durandal, he knew how to handle these things. Of course, even he got sentimental in the end.
Saving humanity for no direct benefit. Honestly.
how much the portal from Minerva....

...looks like ATLAS from the LHC?

So that's what the Combine was doing under that island. To think such an advanced alien race is yet to discover the grand unified theory of life, the universe, and everything.
Awesome! great atmosphere
(A little offtopic here, but i want to share with this information: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJIuYgIvKsc&feature=player_embedded )
I'm worried.
Adam used a cipher...
it was rot 13. Something isn't right here.
Just going to leave this here where it might get noticed...
http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/01/17/hey-valve-whats-going-on-eh/
It's a substitution cipher. Decrypted:
After obtaining the appropriately complex rotor settings necessary for negotiating Milton Keynes' endless roundabouts, a visit to Bletchley Park. Reconstructions of 1940s computing! A world of strange things borrowed from GCH~! A peculiarly ramshackle Victorian mansion surrounded by semi-derelict huts! Secrets everywhere!
I decrypted it quickly enough. As I said, ROT 13.
That's the worrisome part. When has solving a Foster puzzle been that easy?
Personally, I'd be willing to settle for an update on our potato. Our Mrs. Potato. (Kori, I've decided, fyi.) Whatever has become of her?
Was insufficiently sprouty, hardware got commandeered for a grandiose timelapse project.
Another potato at the office is splendidly sprouty, if insufficiently instrumented.
