The server should be up until about the 5th of jan (well if they're going to leave the servers on at work they might as well do something useful yes?). 213.254.172.12:27015 a number I can now remember off the top of my head...
The server is working, kinda, I've just found that the IP was set wrong (not sure how), so it might work better now. I'm hoping I can get it to show up as the Minerva group server and to be joinable from there (it's supposed to show up on the game menu screen, to the right of where your friends show up), not sure what else I have to do that.
I've also just been reading through the list of cvars, and you can do some fun stuff as admin with sv_cheats enabled :)
Let me know how it works.

Do L4D servers actually appear in the server browser? I can't seem to find any.

Back at work now so the server is down until further notice. If anyone would like a copy of the VM to set up their own server let me know.

OK, right now it's about 5Gb, but I think I can reduce that a bit by deleting snapshots and stuff. Also, you'll need some idea of how to set up a manual IP under linux, and how to edit the config files for the server (I'm not sure I ever got it working properly).
Ideally I'd like to create a first boot start up script that walks you through and creates a basic setup file.
As it's so big, I'll probably have to put it in a torrent (unless you have some ftp space somewhere?), and knock up a little bit of documentation (passwords etc.)

I've sent the sftp details by email.
