Now what would "No World" imply? Perhaps it's forewarning of Earth's possible destruction by the Combine? Or something more sinister? (If that's possible?)

Interestingly, Lux Aeterna is a reference to the light of God. I´m not religious, but I am very interested in those kind of significances. Maybe Adam is refering to somekind of religious significance in this name, not for his own religious beliefs (or lack of them, i really don't know), but to create a more complex simbolic construction. This is the way great stories are made.

Anyway, the quote refered in this topic remebers me of the publicity for Halo 3, that one with MC coming form the desert and Cortana making somekind of extra-reality conclusion of the nature of the Hero.
Kinda, what is no life, no death, no world? Its the nothingness, in my opinion. The end of all things, the end of existence. Only time remains, or maybe even that is obliterated.

To me it looks like somekind of apocalytpic precognition.
His the hero somekind of cyborg linked to his suit? Do machine have precognitions? Who knows...

Okay, but I'd be wary about automatically saying "religious references = good story." I mean, just look at the Matrix sequels, and for that matter the TVTropes article

Also, the entirety of Metastasis predates Halo 3. There are some Halo references, and some Marathon references for that matter, but ...

Good catch. In fact, I do not want to say that religious significances automatically create good stories, but they are, in fact, a good way to try to say something. But are not the only ones, of course. I just finished seeing Jin Roh, a great movie that manages to give a great storie, full of layers, without an obvious religious simbology. It rather depends on the capabilities of the creator, I think.
One thing is that those conections tend to be not counscient. To creat a story, we do always use some simbology that is carved in our beings. Sometimes we do understand this and manipulate those same symbols. But that may not happen, and some stories have the natural cornucopia of symbols, but raw.
Usualy we try to do cool things, and work on them. Sometimes we use our general culture (or more specialized knowlege) to amplify that coolness, and other times we do not. But I think we should respect the good attempts (not saying you do not respect, only reinforcing the ideia ;))
