Post subject:  M:M 3 missing in Steam

Hi I've read through some of these replies but my issue seems unrelated.

I've installed the mod using the 148MB metastasis_patched.exe file and it places the startup icons on my desktop.

I double click on the shortcut and it fires up Steam and goes to the Steam Store page..... Then it does nothing.

Metastasis isn't listed in the 'My Games' section of Steam at all. I checked Program Files and the directory is in valve/steam/steamapps/sourcemods.

There is however no HL2.exe file in the metastasis directory as there usually is with most HL2 mods.

I have both Half-life Episode 1 & 2 and have infact played through metastasis ep 1 and 2 more than a year ago.

So in summary I try to run the game, it fires up Steam then does nothing. Metastasis isn't present in the 'My Games' section.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks.

Yeah I've read that, done all it says.

Paths are:

c:\program files\valve\steam\steamapps\sourcemods\half-life 2 episode one

&

"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""\metastasis

Half-life 2 itself is located at c:\program files\valve\steam\steamapps\<my email>\half-life 2

What else can I do? "4. Verify the integrity of the HL2 and HL2: Episode 1 game files."...

I don't understand.

Thanks.

Ah ok this could be part of the problem, Episode one isn't appearing in steam either?

1. Can you check this again?
The half-life 2 episode folder should not be in SourceMods, but in
\Steam\steamapps\<user>\

2. Can you run Episode 1?

3. Have you installed the non-patched release of M:M 3 before installing the patched release?

4. Have you deleted the old metastasis folder and the old shortcuts?
