All right, I get it. I passed this force-field and managed to push the button.
But I was misdirected by the messenger !
When I was about to cross the upper platform around the downlink shaft to get to this force-field, he told me to stop my fight and to shut down the factory. So, as an obedient soldier, I backed off and began to search for the control room.
Why did he told me that ? At that time ?
But, the important is that thanks to you, I can continue this awesome mod !

yeah, "she", sorry for that but I'm not english. By the way, I lost a part of the story of this game because the vocabulary is really developped and hard to fully understand by a non-english speaker. For example, I didn't understood why at the end (SPOILER !!!!), after the first satellite beam launch by her, she told me I betrayed the human race and my combine masters ? Who I really am in the game ? A former combine ? Some kind of collaborator with the benefactors ? An experiment (a laboratory engineered clone) ?
And what's my name ?
The background of this mod seems to be great but hard to apprehend and the references to greek myths doesn't make it easy. And I love that by the way, but it's hard.

Well, Adam obviously didn't want the gravity gun in M:M, so he had to find ways round it. Logically, shooting the plug is quite intuitive, I'm pretty sure I used grenades to shove them about in HL2. (always fun, 'so mr combine, you want to hide behind your force field do you? Say hello to my little grenade then :)')
If you got stuck there, just wait until you have to try and get out again...
