Tried it out yesterday. I must say I liked it very much. Twisting and interloping level design typical of Adam's designs, but a little more confusing due to the HL engine's lower poly count and less obvious buttons (Those consoles with the security access? I didn't understand they were usable until about ten minutes of fruitless search had gone by.). The headcrab area was decidedly annoying (Did there have to be one behind EVERY crate in that hall?), the segments with soldiers were quite well thought out and fun to play. And then at the next level it drops me into a room with no accessways out. I take it that's the end of the beta. In any case that was very cool. Now I wonder why those soldiers were escorting a scientist rather than trying to kill him?...
(I'm aware that the Parallax mod is dead and no longer canon, but some things can be learned from it's design. It was much more atmospheric and realistic than most of the BM locations in Half Life, interestingly enough...)

Yeah, tried mailing that Adam about it a few days ago with no obvious response yet. I hope that further fragments will surface one day!

'Scuse the typically, horrendously late response. Been busy organising international removals, and packing up all my stuff.
I'll try to find some extra Parallax (and even Nightwatch) titbits in a bit, anyhow. And yes, feel free to distribute that supposedly 'do not distribute' Parallax beta thing. I think I know of a newer version somewhere - I'll try digging that out...

Oh, I wouldn't dream of it, Sortie. Not even in the slightest.
Allegedly, that had an incredibly brutal beginning, and apparently, was a sweet, sweet slice of mapping from the days of yore. But I wouldn't know that for sure, now would I?

Now if I could remember where I got that fragment from, the 'test4' part reveals more may be available from that place!
