This cadaver has crawled out of the pit. Care to poke it or should it be kicked it back where it came from?

--------------

So, now that Metastasis is complete, the next episode (as I understand it) will be called Chronoclasm. The inevitable question now is what do we know about Chronoclasm? I seem to remember it being said that while the Metastasis and Chronoclasm storylines are separate they are still interconnected somehow, but exactly how, of course, remains to be revealed. But would you expect anything different from Adam?

[Edit:]I posted this same query on the blog and got some info from others there. Here's what they had to say:

All we know is Twelve Monkeys, a Citadel, snow, and a village. It sounds interesting to me since it appears that Chronoclasm will be very different in style than Metastasis.

Chronoclasm was turned into Out Of Time, because O comes after C. Out Of Time is already in development it seems, Adam said that he launched the OOT version once. ;-)
Out Of Time will take place in a snowy city, which properly will require quite some effort from the texture artists to get completely right, which I don't doubt it'll be.

That means OOT must be played after Metastasis, which means it a countinuation, a sequel, if you will.

It's also been said that

The next installment will feature freakish gameplay additions

Sounds very interesting

Locworks has suggested a moratorium on asking Adam questions regarding "what's next" for a least a month. Although I am ever curious about the upcoming storyline, I agree with locworks. I have no problem with discussing what info we do have already amongst ourselves, but Adam deserves a much needed break. Not that we've been begging him for more info (at least I hadn't seen any such behavior), but...I think you all understand what I'm trying to say. :)

Agreed. Let's give Adam a break and time to chug down a couple of Guinesses.

Kenny, that last post of mine was from October, just after Metastasis' release. This thread was resurrected as a signal that the moratorium is officially over. As the subject for the thread says: it is time to stir the pot o' speculation!

I also think Adam deserves his Guinnesses, but we can as well drink ours while speculating!

...processing data...

anyway, is the plural of "Guinness" correct? My spell checker says not...

One can only rest on his laurels for so long...and if he's drinking the whole time he won't be worth a damn in Hammer! :)

Okay, here's some speculation:

All of us on the blog and forum are going to think way too hard about it, and come to some fairly wacky conclusions, especially about the story. Adam will then release something a lot more straightforward and realistic than our expectations, yet also far more compelling.

I try not to think too hard about it anymore, I leave all that to Terrapin. He's much better at it than I am. ;-)

What I'd mainly like to know right now (among other things), is when OOT fits in to the timeline, whether it's before, after or during Metastasis. In fact I want to know when SE is, if it hasn't already been confirmed that it's during/after H-L1 (which I'm guessing it has and I've missed it being the idiot I am).

We can be reasonably sure that SE takes place before Metastasis. ;) That said, if the Wikipedia entry's timeline is anything to go by, SE takes place two years after Half-Life.

As a previous post states, M:OOT will be taking place after M:M from what we know so far. Of course, that could merely be speculation, but Adam and his cohorts have yet to tell us we're wrong! Then again Adam doesn't usually do that, does he? He probably has more fun watching us wander off-track with our oddball theories... :)

With the new page on the MINERVA website for M:OOT comes a little more info and a lot of questions. Some of the speculation has already been posted on the MINERVA dev blog, but feel free to repost any of that here! It is time to give the pot another stir!

That's what firefox recons too (oh, and ie). I recon it must be quite hard to make something look that broken, whilst not actually being, you know, broken.

Here's the two bits of text from the right and left respectively:
