I love the game so far, but I can't proceed anymore. This is fairly early in the first episode it's after you head down a ladder in the middle of the island. After I press a button a combine soldier comes over and blows a door open, after killing the combine and two other i head down the hallway and the game crashes. It happens there every time. I also have black blocky waves. I don't know if these problems are related but I would be grateful for help with either.
This is right before the crash.
The black waves. (they persist through gameplay too)

Waves are fixed in my in-progress version - I'll look into that crash. (Looks like someone else encountered it also!)
Estimated time until patch: 'ooh I don't know'.

Thanks for the reply. A friend of mine tried to help me with the crash, no luck there, but he did inform me that I was at the very end of the chapter and could move on to the next one without missing much. When I tried my game crashed and gave me the engine error ED_Alloc: no free edicts. I read that you we're working on it just wondering if anything had been released yet.

I got this too. While the mod seems sandboxish, I believe the problem lies in that you need to head back downstairs, not go up the stairs and through the door. Having said that, when I went downstairs and loaded the next level I still get ED_Alloc: no free edicts when it tries to load the next level.
Edit: My water doesn't look too flash either

Sounds like exactly the same problem. I don't think there's much to do but wait.

Not to hijack your thread, but I'm having a similar problem in the exact same spot. I can kill the combine after he opens the door, but as soon as I pick up ammo from his dead body my game freezes up and keeps replaying the ammo pickup sound. I don't get any errors and I can't open the console to see what the problem is. I've been forced to ctrl+alt+del and kill hl2.exe everytime.

Nope, Adam is still working on a patch in his free time so we all just have to be patient.

I'm having the same issue in the same spot. Latest nVidia drivers. Latest Mod files (never played it before, was really diggin' the more tactical gameplay and the awesome tunes).
AMD 64 X2 6000+ 2GB DDR2 800MHz RAM 2x8800GT SLI
If that matters.
Great mod, just wish I could finish it.
